What Is a Heavy Duty Base Plate?
A Heavy Duty (HD) Base Plate is a thicker scaffold base fitting designed to sit beneath vertical scaffold standards (uprights) to provide a stable, load-bearing foundation. Manufactured from pressed steel with a central spigot, the plate evenly distributes the weight of the scaffold onto the ground.
HD Base Plates are particularly suited to heavier loads and demanding site conditions, offering improved strength and stability compared to standard 2 mm base plates. The zinc-plated finish provides added protection against corrosion and weather exposure.
